Blackbeard Computers is committed to taking the stress out of technology, offering friendly, personalized support in areas such as computer repair, software upgrades, and basic computer training. We also wish to improve digital literacy across Prince Edward Island and are working to empower Islanders to use their technology with confidence, security and ease.
Roberts Story
My name is Robert Blackbeard, the owner and operator of Blackbeard Computers and my journey into the world of technology has been a varied and insightful one. With a Diploma in Computer Information Systems from Holland College, I've spent years working in IT for diverse organizations, including Ontario colleges, the city of Guelph, Volunteers for America, and various other companies.
This extensive experience gave me a firsthand look at how crucial it is to treat customers and clients with fairness and understanding. Too often, I witnessed IT professionals acting impatiently or making users feel inadequate about their tech knowledge. This realization sparked a passion within me to do things differently.
Moving to the island five years ago for my girlfriend, I decided to channel my IT skills and my desire to provide a better kind of tech support into founding Blackbeard Computers.
One of the most rewarding aspects of my past IT work was the positive feedback I received for being understanding and never making others feel small when they've made a mistake. This understanding approach to tech support became cornerstone of Blackbeard Computers.
